13th Annual AURP Awards of Excellence

The Association of University Research Parks invites you to declare and celebrate the very best in the profession by nominating exceptional parks, firms, and individuals for the 13th Annual AURP Awards of Excellence.

Awards winners will be honored at the AURP Awards of Excellence Breakfast on Friday, December 12, 2008 at the AURP Annual Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Career Achievement Award:

The Career Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made research and science parks a central focus of their careers, have a minimum of 10 years in a senior research park role, have achieved success with one or more parks over a substantial period of time, and have received peer recognition for advancing the field of research/science parks.

Outstanding Research/Science Park Achievement Award:

The Outstanding Research/Science Park Achievement Award recognizes the parks that excel in bringing technology from the laboratory to economically viable business activities, thus promoting the growth of businesses, jobs, and public revenue. These parks actively participate in the university and federal lab community, creating an important positive effect on research funding and on recruitment of superior students, faculty, and researchers.

Emerging Research/Science Park Award:

The Emerging Research/Science Park Award is presented to an emerging park that has been in operation less than five (5) years. Applicants will have excelled in bringing technology from the laboratory to economically viable business activities, thus promoting the growth of businesses, jobs, and public revenue. These parks actively participate in the university and federal lab community, creating an important positive effect on research funding and on recruitment of superior students, faculty, and researchers.

Innovation Award:

The Innovation Award recognizes innovative ideas and programs that have been created by companies stationed in research/science parks. The Award is intended to recognize the company that has developed this innovation leading to results. It is AURP's intent that through this award, to demonstrate the best innovative new practices that can lead to continued growth and excellence in our parks.

Community Leadership Award:

The Community Leadership Award recognizes a business, university, or government leader who has made an outstanding contribution to the success and total community impact of a research/science park.
